Representatives
Newport Community School Primary Academy is part of the Tarka Learning Partnership. All schools within the Trust are responsible to the Trustees and Members of the Trust.

Newport Community School became an Academy on 1st August 2011 and is now formally known as Newport Community School Primary Academy (NCSPA). In 2018, the school became part of a Multi-academy Trust known as the Tarka Learning Partnership.
School Community Board
The Chair of our School Community Board is Kim Baker and can be contacted in writing through Newport Community School Primary Academy, Landkey Road, Barnstaple, Devon EX32 9BW.
The Tarka Learning partnership is a registered company at Companies House. An annual financial record is compiled each year and sent out to parents and relevant community partners. This statement is available through the school office and the Trusts website.
The School Community Board is responsible for ensuring that the school provides the best possible education for the children, and to see that it fulfills all the requirements laid down by law. Our School Community Board is made up of both parents, staff and community members.
Parent representatives are elected by the parents of children at the school, and teacher and non-teaching staff representatives by their colleagues. Elections are held every four years, unless a vacancy arises.

The School Community Board meet six times a year as a whole. This board discusses the community, curriculum, home-school links and all aspects of pupils experience within the school. The Tarka Learning partnership’s Board of Trustees oversees the work of Newport’s School Community Board in accordance with a delegated scheme of Governance.
