Year 6 War Poetry

Over the last couple of weeks, Year 6 have been reading and creating War Poetry. Inspired by Wilfred Owen's The Sentry and a propaganda video clip of the Blitz in 1940, Year 6 have created some thoughtful and engaging poetry about The Blitz. Within their poems, year 6 has worked hard to use a range of figurative language choices to create imagery and they have used poetic techniques such as repetition to impact the reader. Year 6 will be collating their poems for our library and will be exhibited as part of their museum that the school will be invited to at the end of term. There are certainly some budding authors and poets within year 6!
