Year 5 Dissolving Salt and Sugar

This week in science, Year 5 have continued to look at dissolving and were challenged to consider how salt and sugar could be recovered from a water based solution. They had lots of ideas and debated what would work best! In the end, year 5 decided that they would dissolve the solutes into the water and then leave them on our classroom window sill to evaporate. We are all excited to see what happens! Some children also discovered that when dissolving sugar and salt there is a saturation point!
