Year 4 Indoor Athletics

On Thursday 7th November fourteen children from Year 4 competed in the Park Feeder Schools Indoor Athletics Competition. The event involved a circuit of activities including a standing long jump, a chest throw, a 1 lap run, a 2 lap run and a 20 second speed bounce. To finish the event each team competed in a relay race. Six schools entered the competition and individual effort for each activity contributed towards an overall team score. The team of children from Newport worked hard to try and produce their best effort on each activity and this was rewarded with 1st place at the end of the competition. Congratulations and well done to all of those children involved.
