Through the study of Geography, children study a wide range of localities, from the immediate school environment to people and places across the world. By understanding their own environment, children can use this understanding to compare with human and physical geography in contrasting locations. Use is made of technology to allow children to access places virtually that they would not otherwise experience.

Through their Learning Explorations children are offered the opportunity to learn about a range of environments that Devon and the world has to offer. Where links within Learning Explorations are not meaningful, children can deepen their understanding of varying localities through studying in discrete lessons the physical and human aspects of geography. Teachers will also plan for the study of localities that pupils in year groups and classes have links to.
